Enoch Hawkes

Born: September 15th, 1932

Enoch J Hawkes of New Castle, who passed away peacefully at his residence at the age of 82. Born in St. John's, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine (McCarthy) Hawkes. He is survived by his wife Kathleen; daughters Nancy Vessie (Blair), Mary Ellen Pelletier (Rene) both of New Castle, Carolyn McNichol (Robert) of Tucson, Arizona; sons John (Marty) Hawkes of New Castle, Michael (Heather) Hawkes of Halifax, Joseph (Clare) Hawkes of Halifax, Edward (Anne Marie) Hawkes of Fredericton; grandchildren, David and Ellen Vessie, Anne, Denise, and Marc Pelletier, Barbara McNichol, Jessica, John and Maggie Hawkes, Sean and Carly Hawkes, Brian, Patrick and Jillian Hawkes, Kristen and Jenna Hawkes. Enoch was a lifelong resident of New Castle, and an active member of his community, as a Scout Master at St. Michael's Parish, President of the  Recreation Council, and a Fourth degree life member of the Knights of Columbus #1186. Visitation will be held at The Funeral Home, New Castle on Saturday, August 29th from 7 to 9, Sunday, August 30th, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and the funeral will be held at St. Michael's on Monday, August 31st at 12:00 pm. Donations will be made to the St. Michael's renovation fund or a charity of one's choice. Funeral arrangements are under the care of The Funeral Home in New Castle.
